Jon Terry BA (Hons) FCA
Chartered Accountant and Business Advisor
Jon is one of the founding partners of Blackman Terry.
He is a Chartered Accountant and has a finance degree.
Prior to starting Blackman Terry he was a partner in Swindells & Gentry – an 8 partner firm run from 2 offices with around 50 staff. Jon was with Swindells & Gentry for over 15 years and in addition to working with his own portfolio of clients he was head of the Business Services team and as such was ultimately responsible for the services delivered to all of the firm’s Business clients. In addition he was also a Senior Statutory Auditor, the partner responsible for IT matters and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant’s IT Faculty.
Jon deals with a wide variety of business types and sizes ranging from start up businesses to public schools to large multinational companies. Most recently he has dealt with businesses that include estate agents, travel agents, construction companies, pubs, manufacturers, retailers and IT companies.
Jon is also a seasoned presenter and has given many seminars to clients and local business groups on a variety of topics – he tries his best to inject a little humour into what can be dry subject matter.
He has a wide involvement in the business community generally. His involvement with Seaford Chamber of Commerce spans many years and his roles include Vice President and Treasurer. He has been a Rotarian and is currently involved in the Round Table.
Jon is married with two young daughters. When he finds some spare time he likes to tread the boards with local theatre groups. He also enjoys the occasional pub quiz and long walks, most recently completing the South Downs Way and now part way through the North Downs Way.

Rob Blackman MA MBA
Business Consultant
Rob has over 18 years experience of running his own businesses.
Starting with nothing but an amenable bank manager and an idea, he used generic growth and acquisition strategies to grow the business to 5 Strategic Business Units with a combined turnover of over £5m and employing over 130 people.
Whilst the business was growing, Rob gained experience in all the functional areas of the business such as Finance, Operations, Marketing, Sales and Human Resources.
To add to his credibility he went to the University of Brighton and completed a Masters Degree in Business Administration and then a Masters Degree in Change Management, majoring on Strategy, Vision, Performance and Quality.
His connections led to several high profile consultancy jobs including British Energy, Dignity PLC and Cleankill Ltd.
The work was so rewarding that Rob decided to sell a controlling interest in his companies to set up with Jon Terry (Chartered Accountant) a combined accountancy and business consultancy practice.
Rob’s current client base includes businesses from start ups, who recognise the value of getting up front sound advice to large Corporates who have used Rob to diagnose problems, recommend courses of action and implement changes.
Rob knows that his combination of experience and knowledge enables him to give excellent service to his clients and offers a guarantee to this effect.
When he is not working, he is climbing mountains, skiing down them, mountain biking or playing the guitar (badly)
Rob is married to Annette and they have two teenage daughters.
